APU’s Entrepreneurship Week 2025, led by APU’s Women Empowerment Club or DIGITGAL Student Chapter, empowered women entrepreneurs, transformed APU into an innovation hub, and inspired student entrepreneurship, creating a lasting impact on gender equality and business growth.
People are eager to launch a successful enterprise; however, they are often stopped by the nagging belief that a degree is the sole key to success.
But Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) turns that notion on its head.
Here, students do not just dream of launching businesses; they do it, blending hands-on experience with academic rigor, forging their own paths to success.
From 25th to 27th February 2025, APU state-of-the-art campus transforming its campus into a vibrant hub of innovation and female empowerment with Entrepreneurship Week 2025.
This event was not just another event; it was a movement, a celebration, a launchpad for the next generation of female business leaders spearheaded by the dynamic APU’s Women Empowerment Club, also known as Driving Girls in Technology, Growth & Leadership (DIGITGAL) Student Chapter.
With the unwavering support of the university, industry partners, and passionate faculty, this three-day extravaganza transcended mere networking.
It was a tangible manifestation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 5, Gender Equality; and SDGs 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth.
“They were not just selling products,” Dr Meera Eeswaran, School of Mathematics, Actuarial and Quantitative Studies (SoMAQS) Senior Lecturer and Lead of DIGITGAL explained, “They were sharing stories, building bridges, dismantling the barriers that hold women back.”
APU was not just an academic institution; it is a breeding ground for future entrepreneur, and a place where innovation thrives.
“Women entrepreneurs, who were previously disregarded, were given a tremendous platform to shine. Their enterprises, interests, and visions — all took front stage,” Nishrina Mohamed Jaffurula, Founder and President of the DIGITGAL Student Chapter described.
“It proved that when women support women, incredible things happen.”
For Shafina Farveen, entrepreneurship shifted from a distant dream to a tangible reality.
“Financial independence, once a far-off concept, felt within reach,” she shared.
Hafizah Ghazali found herself immersed in a network of talent and innovation, “Laying the groundwork for future collaborations.”
Zaahirah Mohamed Jaffurula, a Business Management student, sum it up, “The success was not just in the numbers; it was in the spark in students’ eyes, the confidence of entrepreneurs, and the palpable sense of community.”
Subasree Ramish, an Actuarial Science student, echoed this sentiment, stating, “This was not just a moment; it is a movement, a legacy that will continue to empower.”
